Forecast Snow Stability: Heavy rain and mild conditions will further reduce the snow cover at all levels. The soft and moist snowpack will generally be stable on all but the steepest slopes where wet snow instabilities will exist. Any surviving cornices will be prone to collapse threatening the slopes below. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Dry conditions overnight will be followed by wet mild and windy conditions throughout the day. A brief period of snow will fall initially but this is not expected to be heavy. Rain through the day will be heavy at times and winds will be gale to severe gale generally South-Westerly. The freezing level will rise to well above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A trace of new snow affected the higher slopes overnight. Misty conditions in the morning gave way to brighter spells with some warm sunshine, it has been a generally calm and settled day. Daytime summit temperatures at Aonach Mor +1.3 Celsius. ObservedSnowStability: Greatest accumulations of snow are in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries. Cooler conditions overnight initially firmed up some exposed slopes but with rising daytime temperatures many of these areas are now soft and moist, generally stablity is good but corniced areas remain suspect. The avalanche hazard is Low.
