Avalanche Activity

A favourable avalanche situation will be encountered over a wide area.

As a consequence of a strong to storm force westerly wind, rather small wind slabs will form. The fresh wind slabs are bonding well with the old snowpack. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be well bonded over a wide area. The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to slight moistening of the snowpack. This applies at intermediate and high altitudes.

Tendency

The avalanche conditions are favourable over a wide area.
