In sintesi

Wet snow avalanches will be possible on slopes in the direct sun. Most avalanches will be small but can still have consequence in steep terrain and above terrain traps such as cliffs. Use timing and aspect to your advantage and when surface snow becomes slushy be aware that avalanches can happen.

Wet avalanches will mostly be small in size, but keep an eye on changing surface conditions. Look for roller balls as a precursor to the wet avalanches. As snow becomes wet and slushy to ankle deep or more, avalanches can start to increase in size. If the snow in the upper pack becomes wet and slushy to boot top or deeper, consider moving to other aspects out of the direct sun.

    Wet slabs are also possible.

Avalanche Discussion

With a sunny weekend day, I expect many people to get into the above treeline terrain. Even with a low danger rating, there are still things to be aware of. Pockets of unstable snow (such as old wind slabs) may exist in isolated terrain, Be aware of cornices at ridgetops especially above north and east facing slopes. Remember, even small avalanches in steep terrain can send you tumbliing. Keep an eye on terrain traps below you and gauge the consequence of triggering an avalanche.
