The most recent storm cycle delivered more wind than snow. While westerly winds have been the primary driver snow over the last few days, a switch to N and eventually E winds may start to drift snow onto different aspects on Wednesday.
You should expect a higher likelihood that you'll encounter and trigger a wind slab avalanche with increasing elevation. Avoid large steep open lee slopes below ridgelines and cliff bands. If you're traveling along ridgelines, give fresh cornices a large berth as they can easily break back further than you expect. While unlikely, natural cornice fall can trigger an avalanche on the slopes below so be aware of your overhead hazard as you move about. Larger and more consequential avalanches are more likely near the Cascade crest where more new and recent snow is available for transport. Use caution in any elevation band or aspect you find firmer, wind affected snow.
On very steep slopes and in wind-sheltered terrain, dry loose avalanches are possible. Don't let a fast-running sluff knock you off your feet near a terrain trap.
