In sintesi

The snowpack remains well bonded.

Avalanche Activity

The snowpack remains well bonded.

A clear night will be followed in the early morning by favourable conditions. On extremely steep slopes individual small moist snow slides and avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in very isolated cases, this applies in particular in case of a large load. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack consolidated. Field observations and stability tests show good snowpack stability. Less snow than usual is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will soften during the day. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
