Avalanche Activity
The snowpack remains well bonded.
The early morning will see favourable conditions. On extremely steep slopes only isolated mostly small moist snow slides and avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation, in particular on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 2800 m,, in isolated cases also on shady slopes, especially below approximately 2500 m, in particular at the base of rock walls. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in very isolated cases. This applies in particular in case of a large load, in particular on very steep north facing slopes.
Snowpack Structure
Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will already be soft in the early morning. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on north facing slopes.
Tendency
The avalanche danger will persist.
