LO for 15/2. Localised windslab developing on N. NE, E and SE aspects above 950m. Moderate hazard. Stable elsewhere.

Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will remain generally stable. Fresh areas of windslab will develop in sheltered locations above 950 metres. Greatest accumulations will be on steep North, North-East, East and South-East aspects, although significant accumulations will be localised. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Fresh snow above 600 metres is expected early on Tuesday, becoming more showery during the day. Strong Southerly winds becoming Westerly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry day with light to moderate summit winds. The freezing level has been around 850 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Above 900 metres, the snowpack has refrozen and some localised areas of fresh snow are present, although accumulations are not significant. Below 900 metres, the snowpack is slowly thawing. Overall snowpack stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Low.
