The snowpack is mostly stable this morning and avalanches are unlikely. If skies remain clear throughout the day, warm temperatures and sunshine will soften the snowpack in the afternoon in steep, sun affected avalanche terrain bringing the possibility of wet loose sluffs along with some chance of full depth wet slabs. Backcountry users should get an early start and plan to be off of sunlit aspects in the afternoon.

Skies are expected to become overcast tonight followed by developing snow showers Monday morning which will continue through the day. Rain or rain/snow mix will be possible Monday afternoon below 8,000 feet. Overnight lows in the mountains will be near 20, then rising into the upper 20s during the day. The valley is expected to dip into the 20s during the night before rising to near 40 in the afternoon.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to be LOW Monday morning, and could rise to MODERATE during the afternoon at elevations below the rain/snow line. There, wet loose sluffs will become possible along with some chance of full depth, wet slab avalanches if sustained rain saturates the snowpack. Above the rain/snow line, the avalanche hazard will slowly increase as new, shallow slabs build on firm surfaces.
