Skiers and riders venturing into avalanche terrain at the higher elevations might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow surface slab in steep, wind-loaded terrain. While these slides are likely to be small, they still have the potential to sweep backcountry travelers off their feet and over cliff bands or into terrain traps.

Unsettled weather will continue into Thursday with two weak disturbances bringing partly to mostly cloudy skies and the chance for light, scattered showers. Precipitation will be in the form of snow in the mountains and a mix of rain and snow in the valleys. Overnight lows in the mountains will be around 20 before rising to near freezing during the day. Northwesterly ridgetop winds will back to the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Thursday. Low hazard does not me no hazard.
