You can easily trigger an avalanche on most slopes facing northwest through north to southeast. If you are traveling on these slopes and find more than a foot of new snow on top of loose, grainy snow you should avoid traveling on slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. Shooting cracks and collapsing in the snowpack around your feet are additional signs of dangerous conditions and you should stick to low-angle slopes.
