The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW. In steep, upper elevation, wind loaded avalanche terrain, isolated pockets of slab to eighteen inches in depth could be triggered by backcountry snowmobilers or skiers. Predicting the exact location of these weak isolated areas is difficult. At elevations below 7,500 feet, recent snow has fallen on mostly bare ground and avalanches are unlikely.

Snow is expected to start to fall later in the afternoon and to continue into Saturday. Light West winds overnight are expected to increase to 25-30mph and become Southwesterly in advance of the snowfall. Mountain temperatures are expected to rise into the mid twenties on Friday. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Mostly stable snow exists, however some potential remains for humans to trigger isolated pockets of wind slab up to 18 inches in depth on steep snow covered slopes.
