The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE above 9,000 feet, MODERATE from 9,000 to 7,500 feet and LOW below 7,500 feet. New unstable soft surface slabs up to 18 inches in depth have been formed by strong winds. These slabs lie upon slick old snow surfaces and buried surface hoar. They will be easily triggered by humans and could release naturally in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Avoid known avalanche paths and terrain traps.

Strong winds will continue to form new soft slabs on leeward aspects at the mid and upper elevations. Slabs depths to two feet are possible. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered by humans and may release naturally in heavily loaded starting zones. At the lower elevations new snow slabs are expected be isolated and shallow.
