The snowpack is mostly stable. At the upper elevations, backcountry travelers venturing into very steep, avalanche prone terrain might be able to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab up to 12 inches deep. These small slides could pose a threat to skiers and riders in areas with exposure above cliff bands or terrain traps.

A benign weather pattern will continue to bring limited moisture to the region. On Wednesday skies will be partly sunny to partly cloudy with areas of fog possible during the morning hours. Temperatures will be inverted in the morning with lows near ten below zero in the valleys and near zero at 10,500 feet. Daytime highs should rise into the teens at all elevations. Ridgecrest winds will be north to northwest at 15 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. The recent north to northwest winds may have created some isolated pockets of new wind slab up to a foot deep on leeward aspects along the highest ridgelines. Caution is always advised in steep avalanche prone terrain and cliff areas.
