The weather conditions gave rise to consolidation of the snowpack.
The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Avalanches can be released by large loads.
Snowpack Structure
Some snow has fallen in some localities. Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. Weak layers exist in the snowpack. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Over a wide area snowfall.
