Forecast Snow Stability: Good stability in many locations. New localised accumulations of soft, marginally stabilised windslab on steep North-West to North-East aspects above 900m. New wind drifted snow expected on West aspects above the same altitude where it will accumulate on bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight snow showers. Moderate to fresh South-West later South-East then easing to light Easterly winds. Cold throughout. Observed Weather Influences: Mild overnight with sustained rainfall at all levels. Cooler during the day with occasional light snow showers. Storm force Westerly winds eased to strong West-North-Westerly later. ObservedSnowStability: An early period of less good stability with some minor sluffing and cornice collapse on steep North-East to East aspects above 900m. Recent debris of small full depth avalanche noted on a steep rocky East aspect at 750m. Snow stability improved in all locations with the onset of cooler conditions mid morning. Later some thin, isolated pockets of new windslab on a few very sheltered North- East to South-East aspects above 950m. The avalanche hazard is Low.
