As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of wet avalanches during the day being released will increase gradually in particular on very steep sunny slopes at intermediate and high altitudes. As a consequence of a light to moderate wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed in the last few days. Avalanches can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant and reach medium size. This applies in particular on very steep slopes above approximately 2400 m. Ski touring and other off-piste activities, including snowshoe hiking, call for careful route selection.
The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. Over a wide area wind slabs are lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. Individual weak layers exist deep in the snowpack in particular in shady places that are protected from the wind.
