NC for 27/2: Cool, clear, sunny. The snowpack will be firm and stable. Surface instabilities on sun affected slopes. Low Hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack found mostly on North through East to Southerly aspects above 1000 metres, will remain firm, well bonded and stable. Localised windslab accumulations on South-East to South-West aspects above 1000 metres will continue to consolidate. These are confined to steep locations such as, gully exits, coire rims and convexities. Surface instabilities will develop on steep sun exposed slopes. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry settled inversion conditions will continue. During the night it will be clear with summit temperatures falling to minus 5C, during the day there will be bands of sub zero air at various altitudes. It will be sunny for the duration of the day. Light West-North-West winds will veer to become moderate Easterly.

ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack is firm, well bonded and stable throughout, and is most widespread on North through East to Southerly aspects above 1000 metres.
