Avalanche Activity

The wind will be moderate at times. Wind slabs above approximately 2200 m.

Wind slabs can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on extremely steep slopes above approximately 2200 m. Avalanches can in isolated cases be triggered in the old snowpack and reach medium size in isolated cases. This applies in particular in case of a large load.

Snowpack Structure

In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. As a consequence of the occasionally strong wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed. Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack on steep shady slopes.
