Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas in all aspects.

The wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects above approximately 1800 m. Mostly the avalanches are small. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas the likelihood of avalanches being released is greater.

Snowpack Structure

Little snow has fallen over a wide area. In addition small wind slabs formed in all aspects. In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on an icy crust.
