Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to be well consolidated and stable. Greatest remaining expanses will be found on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres in the higher coires. Other aspects are largely snow free. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It is expected to be a dry day, with some cloud. South Westerly winds, will slowly strengthen throughout the period from Fresh to Very Strong. Freezing level will remain above the summits throughout. Observed Weather Influences: A stunning dry and clear day. Winds were light and variable on the tops. After a cold night the summit temperatures were just below freezing, but rose through the day to 5 to 6 degrees Celsius. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is gently thawing and well consolidated. Greatest remaining snow amounts can be found above 800 metres, on North through East to South-East aspects, mainly in the higher coires. These snow patches were firm and icy in the morning, before softening slightly during the day. Northern aspects remaining firm. The avalanche hazard is Low.
