New fragile cornice development also anticipated over these locations. Good stability at lower altitudes, less steep ground, and all aspects recently wind scoured. Forecast Weather Influences: Much colder overnight but temperatures will ease a little over the course of the day. Winds initially moderate to strong Westerly backing Southerly, later South Easterly and becoming very strong. Some snow showers overnight then dry for a time in the morning before more persistent snowfall commencing in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snowfall down to 750m then suddenly milder in the early hours. Colder during the morning with snow showers feeding in after midday. Strong Southerly winds overnight easing and becoming Westerly later. ObservedSnowStability: Period of poorer stability overnight with debris from minor wet snow instability present on a few steep North aspects above 900m. Stability improved in all locations during the morning as colder temperatures became established. Only a little new snowfall observed after midday and very limited drifting at the time of reporting. Older and more recent cornices were beginning to refreeze. The avalanche hazard is Low
