Avalanche Activity

Increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the precipitation.

The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses. In all aspects medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation. The new snow and wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in all aspects.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of snowfall and the strong southwesterly wind, snow drift accumulations will form. Large quantities of fresh snow and the wind-drifted snow are bonding poorly with the old snowpack in all aspects.

Tendency

Over a wide area intensive precipitation. Strong southwesterly wind.
