Avalanche danger is LOW. On steep grass-covered slopes in all aspects which have not yet discharged, glide-snow avalanches reaching medium size are possible at any time of day or night. Avoid zones below glide cracks. Snowdrift accumulations can trigger in some spots in steep ridgeline terrain, releases mostly small. Danger of falling outweighs danger of being buried by snow masses.On steep sunny slopes, small loose-snow avalanches can trigger naturally.

On Monday night there was up to 15 cm of fresh snow registered, more in the Osterhorn range. The fresh snow that has fallen since Sunday lies deposited atop raw melt-freeze encrusted surfaces, bonding is generally good. On sunny slopes the slopes were bare of snow before Sunday’s snowfall. The snowpack glides over very steep smooth ground. The W/NW winds did not transport much snow above the treeline.

Visibility still good in early morning, soon thereafter deteriorating, clouds and fog will move in, minor snowfall possible. Mostly light winds, temperatures rising during the daytime, the snowfall level rising to over 1500 m by evening. At 2000 m: -3 degrees in early morning, -1 degree in the afternoon.

Avalanche danger levels will decrease, but the danger of naturally triggered glide-snow avalanches will persist.
