CM for 11/3/22 Thaw conditions. Moist but generally stable snowpack. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will refreeze overnight and thereafter continue to deplete, during the ensuing thaw conditions. The greatest remaining accumulations will be on North through to Easterly aspects above 800 metres, where the snowpack although moistening all elevations will be generally stable. In thaw conditions full depth avalanches remain a threat on selected crag benches and historic steep avalanche pathways. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Cooler conditions again overnight and mostly dry. The Freeing Level will be around 500 metres. From first light freezing levels will rise to around 1400 metres, with occasional rain to all elevations. A strong temperature inversion will exist in summit areas accompanied by a very strong South-Easterly airflow. Observed Weather Influences: Light snow showers fell overnight, initially to all levels. Thereafter rising temperatures gave way to a mild, damp and overcast day. Precipitation fell as rain, drizzle to above summit elevations. The winds have been strong mostly South-East and Southerly. ObservedSnowStability: Transitional instabilities affected the areas early in the period with localised wet snow in areas of recent windblown locations above 850 metres. From early morning stability improved in all areas. Greatest deposits exist in steep corrie rims, headwalls, gully exits, and high wind sheltered locations, on North-East to East aspects. In thaw conditions an additional hazard of falling ice and rock exists below crag areas. Cornices slumping and liable to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Low.
