Forecast Snow Stability: Isolated pockets of unstable windslab will persist on North to East aspects above 750 metres with the tops of gullies most affected. A brief period of increased snowpack instability, with cornice instability also, will occur early in the morning due to rising temperatures before the snow pack refreezes later in the day. Deposits of new snow during the day are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry evening with the freezing level around 300 metres. In the early hours Southerly winds will increase with summit gusts to 70 mph as they veer South-Westerly. The freezing level will rise briefly above the summits before falling to 900 metres by dawn. Showers in the early morning will be wet snow at summit level and rain at lower levels. Showers will progressively turn to snow above 500 metres as the day progresses and the freezing level lowers. Observed Weather Influences: Initially dry with bright spells. Occasional heavy showers from late morning falling as snow at all levels. Moderate Westerly winds. Summit temperatures around minus 5c. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated patches of poorly bonded windslab have accumulated in sheltered locations, predominantly on North to East aspects above 800 metres. Much of the new snow is lying on bare ground. Cornice development observed on Northerly aspect. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
