In sintesi

A CONSIDERABLE avalanche danger remains on upper elevation west, north and east facing slopes. Human triggered avalanches are likely in this terrain. Continue to avoid getting on slopes approaching 35 degrees in steepness that face west, north and east in the mid and upper elevations.

We have a poor snowpack structure due to the old snow from early November which has "faceted" or turned to loose sugar. We have stronger snow from December sitting on top of the weaker snow from November. This is the poor structure and it is likely to cause dangerous avalanche concerns for some time to come. Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: Riding conditions remain good in many locations but the shallow snowpack is still drastically limiting travel especially for snowmobiles. Overnight temperatures were in the low to mid teens and winds are light and variable.

Mountain Weather: Today will be a nice day up in the mountains with partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the low 20s, and light wind. Saturday looks pretty nice also although the wind looks like it's going to increase quite a bit. Sunday looks cloudy. A storm shaping up for Monday night looks like it might bring 4 to 8 inches of snow. Another storm is shaping up for later next week.
