  Many natural loose-wet slides were reported yesterday in the alpine, including one that nearly swept a skier down a long steep couloir. With fully sunny skies and temperatures once again reaching well into the 40s above 10,000’, potential will continue for more loose-wet slides today, both human and naturally triggered, on E to S to W facing slopes at all elevations. These are likely to start small and shallow, but could easily grow large enough to engulf a person. Pay attention to snow surfaces becoming warm and wet, and be particularly aware of what could come down ontop of you from above. Timing is everything: pinwheels and snow becoming wet and unsupportable are signs of increasing instability.  SW winds are forecasted to be on the increase today, which should keep slopes exposed to the wind cooler and less concerning.
