In steep, wind loaded terrain at the upper elevations, backcountry travelers might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of surface slab or loose snow sluff. While these slides are likely to be small with depths of six to twelve inches, they have the potential to carry skiers and riders into compromising terrain, such as shallowly buried rock outcroppings or scree fields. Snow depths are shallow at the mid elevations, and mostly bare ground exists at the lower elevations.

The chance for new snow will increase overnight and into Thursday before tapering off by Thursday evening. Mountain locations could receive two to five inches of new snow by the end of the day on Thursday. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the low to mid-teens before rising to near 20 during the day. Southwesterly ridgetop winds at 20 to 30 miles per hour will decrease to 10 to 15 miles per hour overnight.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Thursday.
