Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exists as heavy snowfall and wind built cohesive slabs of snow around two feet deep on most slopes and at all elevations. Avalanches in the new snow can grow large enough to bury, injure, or kill you on slopes with around a foot or more of new snow. Triggering an avalanche in the new snow could break into weak snow layers three to four feet deep on slopes facing west through north to east. Avoid areas beneath ridgelines and gullies where you see evidence of drifting such as fresh cornices, rounded pillows of snow, or where the snow surface is hard and sculpted. If you experience cracking or collapsing, retreat to slopes less than about 30 degrees without steeper terrain directly above you.
