Recent snowfall has created fresh slabs that can be easily triggered on most steep slopes. Most avalanches will be small but could grow large enough to bury or kill you in wind-drifted areas at higher elevations. The threat of triggering a larger avalanche that steps deeper into the snowpack remains.

Reduce the threat of avalanches by steering clear of continuously steep, open slopes with lots of vertical relief and steering clear of gullies and ravines. Low-angle slopes less than about 30 degrees without steep slopes above offer the safest riding options.
