In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. The snowpack is mostly stable, however some potential for wet slide activity could develop on steep snow covered slopes if significant warming occurs.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )The axis of the weak ridge overhead will move east overnight in advance of the next storm system that will move quickly into Western Wyoming on Wednesday afternoon and evening. This system will bring a quick shot of light mountain snowfall with accumulations of three to five inches at the higher elevations and rain or a mix of rain and snow at the lower elevations. On Wednesday, expect increasing clouds with light snowfall developing in the mountains and rain and snow showers in the valleys by afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the 30s in the mountains and into the upper 40s at the lower elevations. Winds will be southwesterly at 20 miles per hour with higher gusts. The general avalanche hazard is expected to LOW. Warm temperatures and repeated melt-freeze cycles have settled and consolidated the snowpack. Avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets.
