Significant precipitation is set to continue today, and with plummeting temperatures, the Blues could receive up to 9 inches of snow. This new snow will take time to bond, and the base it is falling on has been heavily loaded and saturated in the past 48 hours. Extreme weather patterns such as these deserve attention and caution, and you should avoid travelling on slopes greater than 30 degrees today.

Avalanche Discussion

We have limited observations from the effects of the recent storm on the Blues. Beacon Parks: Thank you to everyone who helped establish the beacon training park at Anthony Lakes (across from the ski lift on Mud Lake) and near the warming shelter at Salt Creek Summit snopark outside of Joseph, OR. This is a valuable free resource that everyone should use to practice their companion rescue skills.
