Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack surface will become firmer overnight before softening again during the day. It will remain stable throughout and be most widespread around coire back walls and the plateau above 1000 metres. Pockets of windslab may be present on East to South aspects above 1000 metres but these will be generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: There may be some light snow showers during Thursday evening, these will clear overnight to leave a sunny day. Strong North-West winds will ease overnight to become light Easterlies. The 800 metre freezing level will steadily rise to above the summits by midday. Observed Weather Influences: Occasional light showers falling as snow above 1100 metres. Moderate to strong North-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around summit levels. ObservedSnowStability: There is a trace of new wet snow above 1100 metres. The old snowpack remains well bonded and stable throughout and is most widespread around coire back walls and the plateau above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
