In sintesi

At the mid and upper elevations strong crusts and wind-blown snow surfaces are widespread. Well developed surface hoar has formed on shaded and partially shaded aspects. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and upper elevations. Most lower elevation slopes are bare.

Avalanche Discussion

A weak pacific trough is expected to move into the area this evening possibly bringing a few inches of snow to the mountains and very light accumulations in the valley through Friday morning. Strong Southwest winds from 25-40 mph are to accompany this system. Both the snowfall and winds are ecpected to diminish early Friday afternoon. Mountain temperatures are to cool to near twenty degrees overnight with a high on Friday in the mid twenties expected. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are not likely.
