In sintesi

Above 8000' in shaded terrain and above 9000' on other slopes, shallow soft slabs lie upon a weak snowpack of facets and crusts. Backcountry travelers could trigger these small slabs in steep wind loaded areas and they are expected to increase in size as new snow falls today.

Avalanche Discussion

Steady snowfall is expected to continue through midnight before decreasing early Monday morning. Scattered snow showers remain possible during the day Monday as drier air moves into the area. Temperatures are to remain cool on Monday with mountain highs in the mid teens expected.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate at upper elevations where new snow and strong winds have formed soft slabs to up to eighteen inches in depth. These slabs could be human triggered in steep areas where they have formed on the previously existing weak snowpack.
