A shallow early season snowpack exists. This snowpack is stable at this time although its structure is weak and will not likely support significant future loading. New snow today will fall on hard snow surfaces and faceted snow including surface hoar. Avalanche activity remains unlikely as daytime accumulations are to be light.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A fast moving system will bring increased clouds overnight with light snow possible by morning. During the day on Friday up to four inches is expected in the mountains with another one to three inches possible Friday evening as the storm exits the area. Southwest winds with 25-35 mph averages are to accompany this storm. Highs on Friday to be in the upper teens to low twenties. The avalanche hazard is expected to be Low. In the afternoon isolated pockets of shallow surface slabs may form near ridge crests and areas prone to wind loading.
