At the mid and upper elevations surface slabs up to 18 inches in depth have been reworked by northeast and then northwest and west winds. Yesterday skiers triggered two small pockets of new soft slab on the Green River Traverse south of the boundary of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Larger surface slabs could be skier triggered today in higher wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Some potential remains for humans to trigger deeper hard slabs in areas underlain by a buried weak layer of faceted snow. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations due to shallow snow depths.

Skies will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of isolated snow showers. Daytime highs are expected to rise into the low teens. Ridge crest winds will be northwesterly at 10 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to MODERATE above an elevation of 9,000. From 9,000 to 7,500 feet the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Below 7,500 feet avalanches are unlikely due to shallow snow depths. Slab avalanches could be human triggered in the starting zones of steep avalanches paths where these slabs lie upon faceted snow. Upper elevation northerly and easterly aspects present the greatest hazard.
