In sintesi

Avalanche concerns are in two forms above 9000 feet. Pockets of soft surface slab to eighteen inches in depth from recent snows could be triggered in wind-loaded starting zones. Second, areas of older, hard slab up to 4 feet deep persist primarily on easterly to northerly aspects. More substantial triggers such as large groups or snowmobiles may be needed to initiate these slides. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations due to shallow snow depths.

Avalanche Discussion

Wednesday will have increasing clouds through the day as a disturbance moves in the from the northwest bringing light snow by evening. 9500 foot temperatures will rise to the low teens above cold valley floor inversions. Ridgetop winds will be light in the morning then 10 to 15 miles per hour from the northwest by evening. The General Avalanche Hazard will be Moderate. Pockets of surface slabs to eighteen inches deep on slopes receiving drifted snow over the past few days are possible. Concern continues for dangerous, more difficult to trigger deeper hard slabs on easterly to northerly slopes.
