In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Buried layers of weak faceted snow persist in the snowpack. Skiers and riders have the potential to trigger slab avalanches in steep avalanche terrain.

Faceted snow persists in the snowpack. In some areas this weak snow exists as layers while in cold shallow areas the entire snowpack can be faceted. Slabs resting on these layers can be triggered by backcountry travelers today. These slabs could be shallow and small in size or could release to depths of 30 inches or more, particularly in north facing terrain above 9000 feet where some potential remains for full depth avalanches.
