At all elevations the snowpack is mostly stable. Be alert to isolated pockets of slab to 18 inches in depth, particularly in very steep terrain. Avoid slopes above or below cliff bands or cornices where the angle increases to meet vertical features.

A moist northwest flow will bring periods of snow with bursts of heavier snowfall. A couple inches of snow are expected overnight in the mountains. On Thursday the snowfall will continue and is forecast to increase in intensity in the afternoon. Summit temperatures will rise into the upper 20s. Summit winds will be westerly overnight at 30 to 35 miles per hour and back towards the south and decrease to 15 to 20 miles per hour on Thursday. The general avalanche hazard will increase as new snow and strong winds create new surface slabs. These new soft slabs will grain depth and volume as the day progresses. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the morning and increase to MODERATE during the day. Humans who venture into avalanche terrain could trigger soft slabs six to 18 inches deep.
