The most dangerous slopes are thin, rocky slopes where it is easier to impact the weak layer. Before triggering a large and deadly avalanche, you may not see any unstable snow, like cracking or collapsing. Do not let tracks on a slope lull you into a false sense of security, as you may find the thin portion of the slab. Carefully evaluate the snow for a consistent and deeper depth and select slopes with clean run out that don’t end it terrain traps.
