It is unlikely that riders will trigger avalanches on Tuesday. Isolated pockets of unstable wet snow may exist by late in the day on steep sunny slopes. Even when the avalanche danger is low, it is wise to carry avalanche rescue gear and practice safe travel techniques like riding slopes one at a time; unlikely doesn't mean impossible
Avalanche Discussion
It is feeling a lot like Groundhog Day out there. While the clear, sunny weather is beautiful in the mountains, we could sure use some new snow. Our snow surfaces have remained remarkably static for the last week. Sunny slopes have seen a week of melt/freeze and start the days out pretty crusty, often melting enough to provide good corn conditions. Shadier open slopes are still holding a bit of dry snow, and on specific slopes small near surface facets have developed. We have about a meter of snow on the ground at 7,000 ft.
