In sintesi

The higher elevations have received around six inches of new snow since Monday morning. More snow may have fallen on the western slope of the Teton Range. This new snow lies upon firm old snow surfaces. In very steep terrain, small slides involving this new snow could be triggered by humans or release naturally if the sun comes out. Use caution as small slides can be dangerous in steep couloirs, gullies and cliff areas. Conditions can change quickly. Monitor conditions and avoid steep slopes if snow surfaces become wet and unstable.

Avalanche Discussion

Cloud cover will continue to decrease overnight before returning Thursday morning ahead of the next Pacific weather system which will start to bring new snow to the area during the day. Overnight lows in the mountains will be around 20 before rising to near freezing in the afternoon. Ridgetop winds will back to the south at 5 to 15 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Thursday. At the higher elevations, skiers and riders might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow surface slab in very steep terrain where wind drifted snow has accumulated. Up there, wet loose sluffs could also develop on sunlit aspects if mostly clear skies persist into the afternoon.
