In sintesi

Above freezing temperatures occurred again overnight with a superficial refreeze of the snow surface expected.  A shorter window for travel with supportable snow surface conditions is expected today with wet loose avalanches becoming possible as daytime warming occurs.  Move away from avalanche terrain as deep wet snow develops.

    Above freezing overnight temperatures along with mostly clear skies have provided a superficial refreeze of the snow surface.  It won’t take long this morning for rapid warming to form enough wet snow for wet loose instabilities to form.  Recent snow from the Monday night/Tuesday storm is still transitioning to melt freeze and will be susceptible to wet loose avalanches.

    Roller balls, pinwheels, and ankle deep wet snow will be signs that wet loose avalanches are becoming possible.  Larger terrain and slopes could produce longer running wet loose avalanches today.  Once you see signs of unstable wet snow, it's time to move away from avalanche terrain.

  • Glide cracks have formed on some steep slopes in rocky areas. The exact timing of glide crack avalanches is notoriously difficult to predict. Due to the uncertainty, consider avoiding travel on or below slopes with glide cracks.
  • Cornice fall remains an ongoing concern as air temperatures warm above freezing
