Recent large natural wind slab activity combined with widespread hard slab structure suggests we can't write this problem off yet. You may find that it's fairly easy to shear a firm block of snow off where it overlies lower density layering, but trigger points may be fewer and farther between. You're most likely to trigger something in shallow, rocky terrain or above an unsupported slope, or below a corniced ridgeline. Strong W and NW winds created widespread sastrugi in upper elevation terrain, so note where this ends and transitions to firm wind deposits and avoid these slopes. MHM Patrol reported that many of these deposits may be on mid-slope features, gullies, and morraines down toward canyon bottoms. Ease into the terrain, engaging with smaller, lower consequence features with clean runouts if you move onto wind loaded slopes.

A natural (est) D2.5 wind slab failed on an E aspect near 9,800 ft, propagating widely and running about 1,500 vertical feet above the Newton/Clark Canyon split.
