Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will re-freeze and remain well bonded and stable in all locations and elevations. The greatest continuous snow amounts will exist mainly on North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres patchy cover below this level. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: High pressure continues to bring dry and settled conditions with partly clear skies overnight producing some patchy frost in sheltered glens . Freezing level around 1500 metres at first but rising to over 2000 metres during the day. The light South-Easterly winds will veer through South, strengthen becoming moderate South-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: After the cooler overnight temperatures it was a glorious day. Light South-Easterly winds with plus 4 degrees celsius on the higher summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has consolidated at all levels and is firm and stable with an icy surface. The greatest continuous snow amounts exist mainly on North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres patchy cover below this level. The avalanche hazard is Low.
