In sintesi

There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Avalanche Activity

There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

The wind slabs are clearly recognisable. They can be released in isolated cases, but mostly only by large additional loads,. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines above approximately 2800 m. Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.

Snowpack Structure

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and the strong northwesterly wind, a crust formed on the surface. In many cases wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. Above approximately 2800 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2400 m hardly any snow is lying. The old snowpack will be generally well bonded.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
