Avalanche Activity

Dry slab avalanches and wet avalanches during the day are possible in isolated cases as before.

The older wind slabs are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. These can be released, especially by large additional loads, at elevated altitudes. The prevalence of these avalanche prone locations will increase in the late morning. As a consequence of warming and solar radiation, the natural avalanche activity will increase. More mostly small moist and wet avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

The surface of the snowpack cooled hardly at all during the overcast night and will already soften in the late morning.
