Forecast Snow Stability: The existing shallow covering of snow will thaw at all levels overnight, thereafter refreezing and consolidating above 900 metres in the afternoon. A dusting of fresh snow is expected above 850 metres same time, with most snow accumulating in wind sheltered terrain mostly on Easterly aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Wintry showers will peter out this evening. A band of rain, preceded by snow, will cross the area overnight. The freezing level will rise well above the summits same time, before lowering to around 900 metres in the afternoon, with showers, wintry above 850 metres. The strong North-West wind will back and strengthen gale force South-West overnight, returning to a strong Westerly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Frequent and blustery wintry showers through the morning eased in the afternoon. Strong, North-Westerly winds. Freezing level was around 650 metres late morning. ObservedSnowStability: There is a shallow covering of new snow lying on bare ground, with the snowline around 500 metres. There are weaknesses present in small areas of windslab where they have gained depth in steep wind sheltered locations on South-East to South aspects generally above 650 metres. Windward terrain is scoured at higher elevations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
