Forecast Snow Stability: Initially, poor stability where new weak windslab has developed on very steep North to East aspects above 950m. Weak newly formed cornices. Good stability on all windward slopes and ridges. Old and new snow at all elevations expected to show consolidation by the end of the day. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: Further light snow showers overnight easing by late morning. Moderate West-South-West winds becoming light Southerly before noon. Generally cold though temperatures will ease a little during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Generally wintry but significantly milder for a brief period near dawn. Moderate to strong Westerly winds easing later. Overnight snowfall tapered out before dawn. ObservedSnowStability: Period of poorer stability very early in the morning mainly on North to East aspects above 900m. New weakly bonded windslab developed later on steep North to East aspects above 950m. All older windslab at lower altitudes showed noticeable consolidation by the afternoon. Weak new cornices over selected steep lee slopes. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
